Tottenham should make a move for Hull City’s Jarrod Bowen

Tottenham Hotspur have really played some good football this season after being the only club in the Premier League without making any signing in the summer transfer window. But the situation seems to have changed in the current transfer window. According to a report by Hull Live, Tottenham are interested in Hull City winger Jarrod Bowen.

The 22-year-old right-winger often shoots with his left foot has had a couple of good seasons for Hull City. He scored 14 goals last season and is impressing again this term and has already reached double digits. Of the 11 goals that he has scored this season in the Championship, six came in the month of December itself.

The youngster is capable of providing great deliveries from the flanks and has a mix of flair and energy. He has shown great composure in scoring key goals and his end game is really commendable.

It is evident that Tottenham lack backup options upfront. The north Londoners currently have Vincent Janssen, Fernando Llorente and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou but they haven’t truly provided much for the third-placed club. They have hardly made any contributions so far this season and the board needs to offload at least one of them to make room for a new arrival.

Bowen has a year-long extension option in his contract, effectively giving him three-and-a-half years left on his Hull deal. Furthermore, the Championship outfit want a fee in the region of £15m (h/t Hull Live). Tottenham have always restrained from spending big and this fee could be pretty steep for a young player who plies his trade in the second-tier competition.

But Bowen could prove to be a useful squad player for the club and can play as an impactful sub and backup for the key forwards. The youngster has the ability to provide great crosses, can shoot fiercely with his left foot, has a great endgame and is equally involved in tracking back defensively.

Getting a young player who has the potential to develop into a fine prospect would be an eye-catching deal for Tottenham. They have always been good at scouting young players and in Bowen, they will receive an exceptional talent. Bowen has shown at Hull that he can make a difference in big games and would certainly cherish the opportunity of playing with big players in a quality side like Tottenham.
