Premier League Opinions: 4 Premier League destinations for Milan Skriniar

Milan Skriniar is a 24-year-old centre-half who currently plies his trade in the Italian Serie A for Luciano Spaletti’s Inter Milan side. He has really turned himself into a stalwart within the squad, having put in some excellent displays all campaign.

He was a youth product of the MSK Zilina academy which is where he made his first professional appearance as well. It wasn’t until January 2016 that he was signed by Serie A club Sampdoria for a relatively nominal fee.

He spent more than a year at Sampdoria before eventually joining Inter in the summer of 2017. Since making the switch, the Slovakian international has impressed heavily with his composure and skill on the ball. He showcases excellent positioning in the box while he has an uncanny ability to read play from miles away.

He is usually in the perfect spot to defend crosses and always ensures that the opposition strikers aren’t left with any space to run in behind. Capable of some excellent headers as well, Skriniar is tall and imposes himself physically whenever the opportunity arises.

He has the right mentality to excel as a centre-half while his physicality certainly complements his skill-set. This season, he has played 26 games in the Serie A for Inter and he’s even managed an assist during this spell.

According to a report from The Sun, a plethora of Premier League clubs including Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool are said to be quite keen on signing the Slovakian defensive rock in the hope of securing their respective defences.

Here are the 4 Premier League clubs that Milan Skriniar could start next season with:

Manchester United

United’s defensive fragility certainly hasn’t been a secret and the statistics for the first half of their season is enough to prove this fact. Players like Phil Jones have proven their incapabilities time and again and Skriniar can be the right man to strengthen the Red Devil’s.

Manchester City

With Vincent Kompany now entering the twilight years of his career and Nicolas Otamendi already 31, it’s time for Manchester City to make a signing that would secure the back-line for years to come and Skriniar could be a picture-perfect fit for the Cityzens.

Chelsea

With David Luiz’s contract conundrum added to the fact that he’s already past the age of 30 means that Chelsea will also be quite keen on bringing this intelligent centre-half to Stamford Bridge in their bid to emulate Sarri-ball again next season.

Liverpool

The most clear and obvious destination for Skriniar, Anfield has been crying out for a high-quality defensive partner for Dutch giant Virgil van Dijk. Pairing the two can turn out to be a master stroke by Jurgen Klopp and that’s why he must get his man ahead of the circling rivals.
