WWE Chairman Vince McMahon established the first iteration of the XFL in 1999. It had just a solitary season in 2001 before folding after incurring a loss of $70 million. The Rock made sure of its comeback.
In April 2020, the league had to pause amid the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. McMahon notified plans to reboot the league in January 2018. The latest XFL was going to play a 10-week regular season but only five weeks of action were possible before the season was suspended.
ESPN’s Kevin Seifert and Field Yates reported on April 10, 2020, four weeks after play was suspended, that nearly half of the XFL staff had been laid off and there were no plans to play a season in 2021.
In the video shared by The Rock revealing the logo, the voices of the Brahma Bull and his partner Dany Garcia are heard saying, “Football is fueled by dreams. To go further, to get there faster. Those wins don’t just happen, they must be claimed. Work for today, achieved together.“

Dwayne Johnson is very excited about the future of XFL and recently they announced the next season for February 2023. ‘The Rock’ was at the Super Bowl this year to call the match and promote XFL.
The Rock wanted to play professional football but it didn’t transpire that way. He, however, has always been on the lookout to contribute to the game and XFL gives him a great chance to do so.
