Serena Williams

The 23-time Grand Slam champion recently announced that she will be retiring soon. Serena Williams returned to action at Eastbourne International earlier in the year after being sidelined for several months due to an injury that she suffered at Wimbledon 2021.

Since her comeback, Williams has played singles events in just two tournaments. The 40-year-old lost to France’s Harmony Tan in the first round of the grass-court major. She took part in the Canadian Open and began with a comfortable win over Nuria Parrizas-Diaz. However, in the second round, she tasted defeat against Tokyo Olympics gold medalist Belinda Bencic.

Emma Raducanu

Emma Raducanu has not been able to put in consistent performances this year. Ahead of her title defense at the US Open, the Bromley-based youngster would look to get back in fine rhythm at the Cincinnati Open.

She has won just 11 out of 25 matches so far. The Brit was eliminated in the first round of the Canadian Open by Camila Giorgi in straight sets. Raducanu will hope to get into some form ahead of her title defense at Flushing Meadows later this month.

Head-to-Head and Prediction

Serena Williams and Emma Raducanu have not faced each other before so the head-to-head scoreline is 0-0.

Serena Williams might just get one over the 19-year-old in a closely-fought three-set affair.

Prediction: Serena Williams
