The 18-year-old Sinner emerged the eventual winner as he defeated former German professional Haas 6-4, 3-6, 10-8 to progress into the semi-finals.

However, it was the two tweeners displayed by the young and his elder opponent that caught much of the attention during the entire course of the match.

Despite retiring from the game almost two years back, Haas displayed moments of brilliance which proved that talent does not vanish with time.

Sinner suffers loss in the semi-finals

Sinner’s victory over Haas was, however, his highest achievement in the tournament as he lost to World No.3 Dominic Thiem in the semi-finals on Tuesday.

Thiem, who has been busy over the last month playing at the Adria Tour, Ultimate Tennis Showdown, and Thiem’s 7, meanwhile, recorded a comfortable 6-3, 7-6, (7-5) win over his younger opponent.

In the other semi-final, Ultimate Tennis Showdown champion Matteo Berrettini beat Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut, to set up a summit clash against Thiem.
