Marie Bouzkova won her maiden WTA title by defeating Anastasia Potapova in the Prague Open final

Marie Bouzkova capped off her amazing week at home with an easy 6-0 6-3 win over Potapova in the 2022 Prague Open final. The Czech player entered this year with high hopes and proved her ambition early in the year with some fantastic performances. Now, she’s a WTA champion, beating Anastasia Potapova in the final.

Bouzkova broke her opponent 3 times for the easy 6-0 finish in the opening set. Even though Potapova played much better in the 2nd set, the Russian was still no match for Bouzkova who cruised to her maiden trophy on native soil, clinching the second set 6-3. However, what stands out in her victory is that she had to hit zero winners thanks to her opponent’s massive number of unforced errors – 44.

“It’s a dream for me to win my first title here at home. I just couldn’t be happier… It’s a dream come true and I enjoyed playing in front of the home crowd so much”, said Bouzkova after the match.
