The world no. 16 lost in the semi-finals of the Indian Wells Master after giving a tough fight to the 21-time Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal.

In the fourth game, Tsitsipas served in what was a rally comprising of 10 shots. Both players hit one tweener lob during the rally respectively but the placement of Alcaraz’s lob was immaculate. He won the point with a fine backhand volley towards the vacant side of the court.

Renowned commentator and sports journalist, Jose Morgado was very impressed by seeing the point. He tweeted:

The Spaniard achieved a compiled 15-2 match record in 2022.

Alcaraz’s opponent in the quarterfinals, Miomir Kecmanovic, won his Round of 16 match against 2022 Indian Wells champion Taylor Fritz 3-6, 6-1,6-4. After losing the first set, Kecmanovic made a stunning turnaround outplaying the American completely before holding his nerve in the third set to set up a clash versus the sublime Alcaraz.
