Satnam Singh Career
Satnam Singh Bhamara a.k.a Satnam Singh was the 2015, Round 2, 52nd overall draft pick by the Dallas Mavericks. Singh played in the position of Center and he is seven foot-two inches tall.
In September 2010, Singh accepted a scholarship under the IMGR basketball training academy and shifted to Bradenton, Florida. He subsequently played for IMG Academy, the No. 2 ranked team in the country. Further, during the 2014–15 season, he averaged 9.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks in less than 20 minutes per game.
In the 2015 NBA Draft, Singh was the 52nd overall draft pick by the Dallas Mavericks. Notably, this draft made Satnam Singh the first Indian-born player to be drafted into the NBA.
However, on July 8, 2019, Singh’s draft rights were traded to the Memphis Grizzlies.
Further, in July 2015, Singh joined the Mavericks for the 2015 NBA Summer League. Then on October 31, 2015, he was acquired by the Texas Legends, the NBA G-League team of the Dallas Mavericks.
Finally, on November 13, 2015, Singh made his professional debut against the Austin Spurs. He scored four points, three rebounds, and one assist in nine minutes. Subsequently, in the 2015-16 season, Singh played a total of 9 games, averaging 1.5 points and 1.5 rebounds in 7.9 minutes per game.
On October 30, 2016, Singh was re-signed by the Legends. After playing for the Legends in the 2016–17 season, Singh joined the Dallas Mavericks for the 2017 NBA Summer League.
Then on November 3, 2017, Singh signed a contract with the UBA Pro Basketball League in India. Furthermore, on September 6, 2018, Singh signed with the St. John’s Edge of the National Basketball League of Canada.
In a weird turn of events, Singh was handed a ban for two years in 2019 because he failed a dope test. His ban is supposed to end on November 19, 2021.
Recently, Singh turned into a professional wrestler and has signed with the All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Singh will soon begin training at the world-class, Atlanta-based Nightmare Factory, run by QT Marshall and Cody Rhodes.
Interestingly, in 2017, Singh visited and trained at the WWE Performance Centre but ultimately decided to not join the WWE.
