Predicted Man United line-up to face PSG in the Champions League

Manchester United travel to the Parc des Princes on Wednesday night, knowing their hopes of reaching the Champions League quarter-finals hanging by a thread.

The Red Devils trail Paris Saint-Germain by two goals after Presnel Kimpembe and Kylian Mbappe scored at Old Trafford in the first leg of the tie in February.

It will be a tough task in Paris for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, who can certainly take inspiration from the stunning comeback victory against Southampton in the Premier League last weekend.

Team News

Manchester United will be without Paul Pogba, who picked up two yellow cards at Old Trafford.

The likes of Juan Mata, Ander Herrera, Nemanja Matic, Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial will be unavailable for the clash, while Alexis Sanchez has been ruled out for two months after damaging his keen ligaments against Southampton.

Probable Manchester United XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

David de Gea (GK)

De Gea will have to be at the top of his game to keep PSG away from scoring.

Ashley Young (RB)

Young is expected to retain his place at right-back. His experience and leadership skills will come handy against the French champions on Wednesday.

Chris Smalling

Chris Smalling (CB)

The centre-back duo of Smalling and Lindelof did a very good job against Southampton on Saturday and expect Solskjaer to not disturb the partnership.

Victor Lindelof (CB)

Lindelof has been brilliant after a slow start to the season. The Swede is playing with a lot of confidence and getting better with every passing game.

Luke Shaw (LB)

Shaw has made the left-back position his own this season. He is an undoubted starter against PSG on Wednesday.

Fred

Scott McTominay (CDM)

In the absence of Matic, McTominay will get the nod in a defensive midfield role. The youngster will have to be assured with his passing and excellent in reading the game if United are to do well in Paris.

Fred (LCM)

This will be a big night for Fred, who hasn’t set the world alight since moving from Shakhtar Donetsk last summer. With Pogba suspended, the combative Brazilian will look to impress the manager.

Andreas Pereira (RCM)

Pereira will be raring to make a mark against PSG in the Champions League after scoring a beauty in the 3-2 victory over Southampton.

Diogo Dalot (RW)

Dalot has quickly become a favourite amongst the fans since his last summer’s move from Porto. He could be given an advanced role on the right wing on Wednesday.

Romelu Lukaku

Marcus Rashford (LW)

Rashford will have to step up and deliver the goods to help the Reds produce a miraculous comeback against PSG.
