Predicted 3-4-3 Tottenham XI vs Manchester United in the Premier League

It’s Tottenham vs Manchester United for this weekend’s prime clash in the Premier League. Jose Mourinho will return to familiar surroundings as his current side Tottenham visit his former team, Manchester United. Both sides have had similar starts to the season, with a loss on the opening weekend as well as getting past their last EFL Cup opponents.

Manchester United have also started racking up wins and a solid but tight game can be expected.

Team News

A couple of injury issues means Jose Mourinho will be scratching his head. Heung-Min Son will be the biggest miss.

Sissoko and Tanganga only just returned to action while Gareth Bale is highly unlikely to feature before the international break.

Probable Tottenham XI vs Manchester United

Formation: 3-4-3

Hugo Lloris (GK)

The experienced shot-stopper will likely be rested in the Europa game but should return between the posts at Old Trafford.

Eric Dier (CB)

Dominated the headlines for his sudden departure from the field against Chelsea. Expected to return to his defensive duties.

Toby Alderweireld (CB)

Remains Spurs’ best defender and will have to deal with the likes of Greenwood and Martial.

Japhet Tanganga (CB)

The young centre-back is looking better in his natural position. Should start against Manchester United.

Matt Doherty (RM/RWB)

The wing-back will be vital to Tottenham’s attack down the right and will provide width.

Sergio Reguilon (LM/LWB)

United fans know a thing or two about Reguilon and they would also know how much of a threat he can be.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (CM)

The Danish star has been solid for the Lilywhites since their first game. Will have to control Bruno Fernandes to stem their creativity.

Tanguy Ndombele (CM)

Ndombele is enjoying a comeback of sorts after falling out with Mourinho. He has featured more regularly in recent games.

Steven Bergwijn (LW)

In the absence of Son, Bergwijn will have to show that he is an able deputy. Scored the last time these two sides met in June.

Eric Lamela (RW)

Lamela has been in good touch this season. He has worked hard, been among the goals and has generally looked good.

Harry Kane (ST)

Kane will have to step up in the attack with Son missing. He is Tottenham’s talisman and his performance could decide the game’s outcome.
