Why Real Madrid must push hard to sign Eduardo Camavinga
According to a report from AS English, Eduardo Camavinga is wanted by La Liga giants Real Madrid. But Rennes sporting director has stated that there are no intentions of selling their star player this summer.
Camavinga is just 17 years old but has become a regular for Stade Rennes, having started most of their games in 2019/20. The teenager helped Rennes finish third in the shortened Ligue 1 campaign.
Camavinga’s great tackling and defensive abilities has captured the eyes of a lot of teams. It is no wonder why despite only being 17, he is not just in the first-team but has featured 25 times in Ligue 1 this season.
Do Real Madrid need Eduardo Camavinga?
Camavinga might only be 17 but he possesses maturity beyond his years, his ability to tackle and attempt great passes has been phenomenal. The youngster so far has shown that he can be good both on and off the ball.
The young gun has already taken Ligue 1 by storm and Real Madrid adding him to their squad will only strengthen them further.
Casemiro is the only defensive midfielder that Real Madrid have, with the rest of the midfielders in the squad suited to a more advanced role. Hence, this calls for reinforcements in the holding midfield position this summer.
The Merengues need a new young face like Camavinga, who would add more energy to the midfield. Real Madrid striking a deal for the teenager would mean not just that they have a player for the future, but someone who can come off the bench and act as a cover for Casemiro.
