Rasmus Dahlin Career
In November 2016, Rasmus Dahlin, playing for Frölunda HC in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), scored his first goal. By 2018, Dahlin had become the top prospect for the NHL Entry Draft. Scouts described him as a smart two-way defenseman with strong skating, puck handling, vision, intelligence, and a great shot. Dahlin was drafted first overall by the Buffalo Sabres in June 2018, becoming the first Swedish player to be drafted first overall since Mats Sundin in 1989.
Dahlin signed an entry-level contract with the Sabres in July 2018 and made the opening night roster for the 2018-19 season. He made his NHL debut in October 2018 and recorded his first career NHL goal in a win over the Arizona Coyotes.
