Spanish star Rafael Nadal is set to feature in doubles tennis after almost three years out

The Indian Wells tournament will see Rafael Nadal play doubles tennis after almost three years.

The last time he featured in double was also in the Indian Wells tournament in 2017, and Marca, claims that Nadal will team up with Marc Lopez for this clash.

Tommy Haas, a former tennis star, is the organiser at the Masters event, and Nadal had previously partnered Bernard Tomic in 2017.

Nadal has mostly made his name as a singles competitor in recent years. He has 19 Grand Slams to his name and is still one of the best to have played the game.

However, the 33-year-old is no slouch when playing doubles. Although he hasn’t played doubles tennis regularly, he won several titles with Lopez in the past.

Lopez and Nadal have worked out well in the past and won the doubles gold in the 2016 Olympics.

Nadal and Lopez have also won the Indian Wells tournaments in the past, and they could be one of the favourites for the tournament.

Nadal also regularly played doubles in the Grand Slams and his best result was a semi-final place in the 2004 US Open.

It will be interesting to see how he does in the doubles clash, but Nadal isn’t the only one who is set to play in this format.

The Djoker also gets a chance to show his skills

Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic will also play in the tournament and will partner Viktor Troicki.

Djokovic has also concentrated more on singles tennis and has won a record eight Australian Opens.

The Serbian has been in excellent form this season and is doing well in Dubai too. The 32-year-old has won just one doubles title in his career and his best result in Grand Slams was reaching the second round at Wimbledon.
