Predicted Tottenham XI to face Liverpool in the Premier League

Tottenham will face one of their biggest tests this season as they visit defending champions Liverpool. Spurs are in a bit of shaky form with just two wins from their last five games. They were held to a disappointing draw against Crystal Palace in the last game.

Liverpool aren’t in great of form themselves, mirroring their Wednesday night opponents. They were also held to a draw in their last game against Fulham. Both teams have identical records in the league this season and are joint leaders with Spurs only edging it out on goal difference. These three points could go a long way in the title race.

Team News

Not a lot of injury problems for Mourinho to deal with as Erik Lamela is the only player ruled out with a foot injury. Gareth Bale could recover from his illness in time to make the squad.

Other than that, Mourinho will have most of his squad to choose from. Expect quite a strong XI to be put out by Mourinho as he looks to cement his place at the top.

Probable Tottenham XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Hugo Lloris (GK)

A huge spill from him in the last game gave Crystal Palace a valuable goal. Still retains his place though.

Sergio Reguilon (LB)

A first choice by now, Reguilon has hardly put a foot wrong since his move.

Eric Dier (CB)

Was rather unlucky to have his injury time free-kick thwarted which could have tilted the game in Spurs’ favour.

Toby Alderweireld (CB)

Alderweireld showed his passing range which will be important again if they are to counter Liverpool’s forward press.

Serge Aurier (RB)

Aurier is in much better form than Doherty and rightfully keeps his place in the side. Will need to be wary of Sadio Mane though.

Moussa Sissoko (DM)

An enormous presence in the middle of the park, Sissoko will be an all-important player in this game.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (DM)

Hard to point out any flaw in the former Southampton man’s game. He is ever-present in the team and will have a huge task to break down the opposition’s attacks.

Tanguy Ndombele (CAM)

Was withdrawn in the last game with quite some time left. Will need to put on a better showing here.

Heung-Min Son (LW)

The South Korean will surely be raring to have a go at Liverpool’s injury depleted backline.

Steven Bergwijn (RW)

With Bale unlikely to start, Bergwijn has done well to keep his place on the right.

Harry Kane (ST)

Kane has kept up his scoring spree and even he will relish the chance to test an injury-hit Liverpool defence.
