Predicted Chelsea XI to face West Ham in the Premier League

Chelsea will be hoping to get back to winning ways as they welcome West Ham in a late Monday kickoff. The Blues have been hit hard with two consecutive losses as they have won only 2 of their last five games.

West Ham, on the other hand, are flying with 3 wins from their last 5 games and have only lost one game during that time. There’s a good chance that West Ham can pull off an upset here as Frank Lampard tries to turn around this bad run of form.

Team News

Hakim Ziyech has been out of action since the Leeds game and could well be out for another few weeks with a hamstring issue. Callum Hudson-Odoi is ruled out too due to a hamstring problem and could return at the same time as Ziyech.

Probable Chelsea XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Edouard Mendy (GK)

3 goals conceded in 2 games as Mendy finds himself in unfamiliar territory. Nonetheless, he still remains an integral part of the side.

Reece James (RB)

Will likely continue in his position for the time being. Fingers could be pointed for allowing Wolves to score the first goal.

Kurt Zouma (CB)

Unlucky to not get on the score sheet against Wolves. Was decent throughout the game and should keep his place.

Thiago Silva (CB)

Should retain his place but given how he has been rotated on a regular basis, remains to be seen if he plays.

Ben Chilwell (LB)

Chilwell has been a menace for teams this season as he has constantly bombed up and down the left flank.

Ngolo Kante (DM)

Solid as ever, will need to be on his toes for this game though.

Jorginho (DM)

Should come in place of Havertz to provide some more defensive cover given how they have conceded in the last few games.

Mason Mount (AM)

Quiet game from the usually effective youngster. He will be vital if Chelsea are to break down West Ham’s compact defence.

Christian Pulisic (RW)

The American is slowly getting back to match fitness but looks like he might need some more time to get in gear.

Timo Werner (LW)

Werner has looked ridiculously ineffective in the last few games but will likely continue in the absence of Ziyech and Hudson-Odoi.

Olivier Giroud (ST)

The veteran striker continues as the leading man for Lampard’s side and his regular flow of goals will be needed again.
