Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez were one of the most popular – but are they still dating? 

It is now official that Jennifer Lopez finally married Ben Affleck on July 16, 20 years after they got engaged the first time around in 2002 before splitting up a couple of years later.

As now the fans celebrate the wedding of Lopez and Affleck we take a look at how the relationship between the developed over the years. 

The duo met first on the sets of the film Gigli in late 2001. At that time Lopez was married to her second husband, Chriss Judd. However both Lopez and Ben became close friends during that time. It was at her 33rd birthday party that Lopez confirmed the dating rumours as the couple was seen getting cosy during the party. 

Soon after that Lopez filed for divorce from Judd and then on November 5, 2002, Jenny from the Block music video starring Affleck shows the couple again getting cosy on a yacht. The same month the actor proposed to Lopez at his mother’s house in Boston.

How did the couple get married even after breaking their relationship once?

In 2003 the couple was about to get married but it got postponed due to excessive media attention. However, months later Lopez and Affleck ended their relationship n 2004. Following their separation, the couple moved on and found different partners on their way. 

Lopez married Marc Anthony, whom she first dated in 1999 after they collaborated on No Mes Ames. The Batman actor married Jennifer Garner in 2005. Lopez has two kids with Anthony, while Affleck had three kids with Garner.

Times changed finally after so much wait Lopez and Affleck again got into a relationship in 2021 where they rekindled their relationship and this time they did manage to walk down the aisle and finally said: “I do” in Las Vegas.

As Per People, Lopez announced the news in her On The JLo newsletter, writing to fans, “We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient. Exactly what we wanted. Last night we flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world.”
