Wolverhampton Wanderers Opinion: Raul Jimenez signing is a master-stroke

According to a report from the Guardian, Nuno Espirito Santo’s high-flying Wolves side have completed a club-record transfer in the region of £30m. The deal will see SL Benfica loanee Raul Jimenez stay at the Molineux beyond the end of the season for a period of 4 years as stated in the contract.

Wolves’ Mystery Mexican Sensation

The Mexican international striker has been an absolute revelation since making the loan switch from Benfica earlier in the season and his exploits have become a crucial part of their team’s playing style as well as the atmosphere inside the Molineux.

Since arriving in the summer, the 27-year-old has scored 12 goals and picked up a further 8 assists from his 32 games in the Premier League this season which has included victories against even some of the league’s biggest clubs including the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham.

Their most recent match against the Big-6 was against Manchester United last time out and Jimenez stepped up to the plate massively as his play with Diogo Jota left the United defenders dazed and confused as to what was going on. The prospect of seeing the Mexican partner Jota again next season is one that Wolves fans will be relishing.

The 27-year-old was a largely unknown quantity before he was scouted and signed by the clearly intelligent Nuno. His contributions to the side have been beyond compare while the sheer determination that’s shown every time he steps out onto that football pitch is commendable too.

The Epitome of Tirelessness

Despite being one of the Premier League’s highest-rated players after the season he’s had, Jimenez has still managed to keep his feet on the ground and perform satisfactorily. His work-rate certainly hasn’t deteriorated even by a single percentage right from the opening day of the season.

An excellent passer of the ball, Jimenez is undoubtedly one of the smartest players in the Premier League and he has proven this time and again with the quality of runs he makes. Adept at timing these runs to perfection and in-turn keeping himself onside, his goalscoring ratio is quite impressive.

His ability to finish from anywhere in the box is probably his biggest asset as he has shown over the last few months. Including involvement in both the goals they scored against Manchester United last time out, Jimenez has arguably been Wolves’ best player of the season and this deal is assured to wonders for future of the club.
