World No.1 Novak Djokovic made it to the Round of 16 of the ongoing 2021 US Open after seeing off Kei Nishikori of Japan in four sets.
After dropping the first set against Nishikori, Nole came back roaring back to win 6-7, 6-3, 6-3, 6-2.
He had already dropped a set in the first match against Holger Rune.
Following his win over Rune, Djokovic went on to beat Tallon Griekspoor in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3, 6-2 to set up a clash against Nishikori.
Now that he has beaten Nishikori, he will be taking on Jenson Brooksby – the home favourite, American.
Brooksby is coming off an astonishing marathon win over Aslan Karatsev, the 21st seed. He beat the Russian 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 3-6, 3-6 to emerge victorious and set up a clash against Djok.
He also became the youngest man from America to reach Round 4 of the US Open since the great Andy Roddick in 2002.
Prior to beating Karatsev, Brooksby earned victories over Mikael Ymer of Sweden in the first round and fellow American Taylor Fritz in the second round.
Both the wins were four-setters.
