Why Norwich City should raid Spartak Moscow for Ze Luis in the summer?
According to last month’s report from Championat, Leeds United had tabled an eye-popping £10.5million offer for Spartak Moscow forward Ze Luis in January. However, a deal never materialised and Ze Luis has since stayed with Spartak Moscow.
The Spartak Moscow striker, 28, has been in fine form this season bagging 11 goals so far this season but earlier this month expressed his desire to play in England. That being said, Norwich City should make an attempt to sign Ze Luis in the summer.
Norwich City continue to gallop towards a surprise promotion to the Premier League and Daniel Farke’s men are showing no signs of slowing down. A 3-2 win against fellow promotion rivals Bristol City was the latest in a long line of fantastic results and smooth displays, meaning they proudly sit at the top of the Championship table.
Very few might have fancied the Canaries to be at top of the table of the standings after 34 games but to be in that position, Farke finds himself in a remarkable achievement at this stage of the season. With Norwich City clear favourites to achieve promotion, Farke should start planning for the next season from now on.
Premier League football is an entirely different kettle of fish than the Championship, so proper planning and execution would be required from the Norwich hierarchy. Farke needs to plot the right profile of players in the transfer window, the players that could come in and make a telling difference to the squad.
Just like how Teemu Pukki has done for the Canaries after arriving on a free transfer from Brondby last summer. Pukki has been a revelation in the Championship, scoring 23 goals in 31 league games till date. Even though the likes of Jordan Rhodes and Dennis Srbeny have ably supported him, the Finnish striker would need some serious competition if Norwich are to excel in the Premier League.
That’s one of the prime reasons why the Canaries should sign Ze Luis. The Cape Verdean has enjoyed his best goal-scoring season for the Russian club so far. The 28-year-old is a fox in the box, waiting for the opposition to commit any mistake so that he can pounce.
He can be a nightmare for the defenders due to his blistering pace and acceleration, whilst his excellent aerial prowess makes Ze Luis a threat from set-pieces. Furthermore, the Cape Verde international possesses an abundance of quality in his game and has the potential to change a game on his own.
Based on Ze Luis’s profile and age, Norwich should not leave any stone unturned in bagging his signature this summer.
