Trey Lance was given the opportunity to start at quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers before the start of this season, and it was always expected that Jimmy Garoppolo would depart the team. In the end, Jimmy G decided to remain a member of the squad, but Trey Lance was sidelined for the rest of the season due to a severe injury.

Garoppolo has stood up to the challenge in Lance’s absence and has been able to lead the squad by setting a good example. The 49ers are presently in first place in the NFC West and are a serious candidate for a spot in the Super Bowl. Nick Wright already believes that Jimmy Garoppolo will be leaving the 49ers after this season, despite the fact that many people have given credit for the team’s performance this year to Garoppolo.

He believes that the New York Jets and the New York Giants will be heavily pursuing Jimmy Garoppolo in free agency after this season. Both these teams have quarterback issues and Garoppolo could help them.

Talking about it, Nick Wright said, “One of these teams is going to pay massive amounts of money for Jimmy Garoppolo this offseason? I don’t know if it’ll be the Giants I don’t know if it’ll be the Jets I do know he will be a Back Page cover boy many many a time and he’ll get a lot of money and those teams will then be gravely disappointed but that’s where they’re at. And both of them by the way both those New York teams amazing starts to the season.”

Daniel Jones has played well this season but Jimmy Garoppolo would certainly be an upgrade over him and when it comes to the New York Jets, the franchise doesn’t know how they will deal with Zach Wilson going forward. A player like Garoppolo is suited for New York teams and it’s very likely he will end up on one of those teams.
