Will Dak Prescott play in Week 8 against the Chicago Bears?

Dak Prescott returned for the Dallas Cowboys in Week 7 against the Detroit Lions. Although the marquee #1 Quarterback of Dallas wasn’t at his supreme best, he did show glimpses of him making his way back gradually in the offensive unit. Ahead of the team’s upcoming match against the Chicago bears, Prescott is all set to enter the game in a much-better state.

Although the Cowboys would be missing their lead running back Ezekiel Elliott, but Dak Prescott will be their starting Quarterback. Prescott doesn’t run as much as he did before sustaining a serious ankle injury in 2020. Yet he is capable of being more pro-active than Cooper Rush. To justify this claim, Dak had 146 rushing yards last year. He gained 277 or more in his first four seasons.

“Dak’s run that offense for a long time,” Chicago Bears coach Matt Eberflus said while talking about the threat his team would have deal with Dak Prescott standing in front of them, as per Si.com. “He knows what it is, he’s been in that system. It’s the same system since he got drafted, so there’s a lot of variants when you have Dak in there for sure.”

In the past, Bears have locked horns against Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe – both of whom are not big-time runner with the ball. Neither Kirk Cousins nor Carson Wentz in the Bears’ previous two games were scramblers. But Dak Prescott will pose a unique challenge. Given that the latter can burst on the scene on his ‘A-Game’ day, the team from Chicago will always be on their toes.

That being said, after a sloppy start in Week 7, Cowboys got it going in the latter quarters to put Detroit Lions away and relied on their second-ranked defense. In the second half, Prescott went 9-for-10 for 103 yards. Will he be able to improve his trajectory? Will be an interesting story to witness unravelling.
