“We’re disappointed”: John Harbaugh reacts to controversial TD call in Ravens loss to Jaguars

On one hand where the likes of Lamar Jackson have been highly impressive for the Baltimore Ravens, there is one area where this team has majorly lacked. The ability to hold onto their prestigious lead. The reciprocation of which was faced by them in Week 12 against the Jackson Jaguars, after which John Harbaugh revealed his true feelings.

To those who missed the live action, in the dying seconds, Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence found Marvin Jones Jr. for a 10-yard TD (14 seconds on the clock). However, it appeared Jones Jr. would out of bounds. The officials reviewed the play and upheld the call. This broke the hearts of coach John Harbaugh and other Ravens players.

“We’re disappointed. We’re moving on,” Harbaugh said, according to Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley. “The officials reviewed it. I’m not sure what they said. No one explained it to me – why they didn’t say the shoe was out – but I didn’t get any explanation on that.”

What next for John Harbaugh’s Baltimore Ravens?

Talking about whether the right call was made or not – Jones Jr.’s first foot clearly comes down inbounds. However, the rest of his entire body then hits well out of bounds.

Eventually, his other foot comes down and lands inbounds. It’s hard to understand how that play was not reversed. Instead, the play stood as called. The reality might hurt John Harbaugh and his team, but that sadly is the truth for them.

Ravens have fallen to 7-4 and are tied with Cincinnati Bengals atop of AFC North division rankings. With the stakes being ever so high can the Ravens snatch a win against the Denver Broncos in Week 13? Remains to be seen.
