Carolina Panthers haven’t proven to be a solid unit is the 2022-23 season. With owner, David Tepper not being satisfied by his team’s performance all together, it seems like his misery might just increase as he is now the subject of an investigation over the team’s failed project to build a practice facility in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

To those unaware, David Tepper along with his real estate company GT Real Estate are being investigated for a potential misuse of public funds. However, there is no confirmation that such a deed has happened nor are there any proofs at the moment.

Tepper and GT Real Estate filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in Delaware last June, officially killing the construction of proposed $800 million practice facility for the Carolina Panthers.

Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper in deep trouble?

David Tepper has reportedly made more than $175 million in investments for the project. It came after GT Real Estate terminated their partnership with Rock Hill over the city’s failure to issue bonds and fulfill their funding promises.

An investigation is simply an inquiry and should not create any inference that wrongdoing has been committed by any party,” York County Sheriff Kevin Tolson and Solicitor Kevin Brackett said their statement, via Yahoo.

That being said, the country had previously filed for a lawsuit claiming that Carolina Panther’s owner and co. did not use the $21 Million of sales tax money. Rather than improving the roads around the facility, it seems like David Tepper had or had misused the mentioned sum. An official word from Tepper is being awaited as of writing.
