Will Smith won the Oscar for the best actor on the 94th Academy Awards. It was, however, another segment involving the 53-year-old that has been in the news ever since its occurrence. However, something unfortunate occurred between Will Smith and Chris Rock at the event.
Chris Rock, a stand-up comedian and the presenter on the show was slapped by Will Smith on stage. The awkward incident took place when Rock, joked that Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett should be in a GI Jane movie. He was referencing her shaved head. It is important to note that Jada suffers from alopecia.
Smith marched onto the stage where Rock was standing. The popular actor slapped Rock and left the stage looking quite angry at the 57-year-old’s comments. Rock did well to continue the show even as the audience was left stunned at what just transpired.
After Smith returned to his seat following the slap, he was seen hurling out expletives. He warned Rock to keep his wife’s name out of his “f*****g mouth”.
