51-year-old, Rob Van Dam is one of the most lovable wrestlers to have stepped foot inside the squared circle. Mr. PPV continues to enjoy a surreal fan following. However, he does have his share of trollers who he used to call by some other name during his active days as a wrestler before the times of social media.

In today’s day and age, social media is a huge boon for fans. They can connect with their favorite superstar and idols. They can also stay updated about what their favorite celebrities are doing and sometimes directly ask questions and get replies that they cherish forever. This is something that fans of the pre-internet era missed.

However, social media has its cons as well. There are trollers and then there are haters. They have easy access to insult celebrities they aren’t fond of. Thanks to social media, the celebrities they hate are easily accessible to them which wasn’t the case a couple of decades back.

It is very convenient to write derogatory comments on the comment section of the celebrities but it needs to be understood what effect it has on the person receiving them.

The Hall of Famer wrote:

“FYI- before the days of social media, we had trolls with desire to bring down the self esteem of others. We called them a**h*les.”

Social media isn’t confined to just the troller and the celebrity. It is for the world to see and the family members and relatives can also view them and suffer as a result. The trollers need to put themselves in the shoes of who they troll and their family members. Many celebrities have spoken about the trolls and hate comments and how it affects them.

Recently, Alexa Bliss put out a tweet where she revealed that she and her fiance were receiving death threats. Bliss tweeted:
