The Golden State Warriors recorded a 127-118 win over the Washington Wizards on Monday night at the Capital One Arena in Washington. The defending champions returned to winning ways on the road, courtesy of another exceptional performance by their talisman Stephen Curry who continued his streak of extraordinary form in the away win at the Washington Wizards.

The reigning Finals MVP put on quite the show at the Capital One Arena as he racked up 41 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists to help his team to a much-needed win. Curry’s performance which also saw him make six turnovers was yet another one in a series of extraordinary displays as the 34-year-old continues an incredible run of form, which was also appreciated by the home fans.

It was three quarters into the outing that the Wizards fans at the Capital One Arena began chanting “MVP, MVP” at the NBA legend, to honour the kind of form Curry has been in this season. In fact, his head coach Steve Kerr took the praise a notch higher after the game as he compared Curry to the legendary Michael Jordan while offering his post-game thoughts.

When asked about his thoughts on Curry’s dominant display, Kerr kept it short as he described Curry as the ‘modern day MJ’. It came as praise of the highest order to be compared to one of the absolute greats of the game in the Chicago Bulls and NBA legend Michael Jordan, and it certainly did justice to the kind of form that Curry has been in all throughout the season.

Curry has averaged 29.3 points, 6.4 rebounds and 6.3 assists this season even at the age of 34, defying many critics who thought we had seen the best of Curry last season.
