Stephen Curry responds to a supporter who assisted in finding a stolen 17-18 trophy

Over the course of his illustrious NBA career, Steph Curry has won several awards. The NBA Finals MVP, two regular-season MVPs, and four titles have all been won by the Golden State Warriors superstar. Therefore, it should not come as a surprise that Stephen Curry’s case of trophies, rings, and souvenir jackets has become quite cluttered.

Additionally, he twice won the All-Star Weekend Three-Point Shootout and was chosen MVP of the All-Star Game. Curry was chosen as one of the league’s 75 best players of all time, which may be considered his greatest achievement.

Curry’s collection of honors was so overflowing, in fact, that he misplaced a less well-known one: the trophy honoring his league-leading free throw percentage during the 2017–18 season.

Who was Ryan Channels? How did he help Stephen Curry?

Here comes Ryan Channels, a sports memorabilia collector and ardent supporter of Stephen Curry who just so happened to stumble onto the errant trophy during a regular card transaction. On Wednesday at Chase Center, during a game between a depleted Golden State and the Utah Jazz, he gave it back to the Warriors’ star franchise player.

Curry tweeted on Twitter to thank Channels for his work. To Channels, he responded, “Appreciate the help getting the hardware back 🙌🏽.”

Before suffering a left shoulder strain in a defeat to the Indiana Pacers on December 14th, Curry was on track to take home another trophy, putting his claim for a third MVP title on hold. Upon his return to the court, perhaps in a few weeks, he’ll accompany Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic, Joel Embiid, and friends as a leading contender for basketball’s top individual honor. However, Stephen Curry must now make some additional space in his trophy room.
