During his senior year at Westtown, Bamba averaged 12.8 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 3.4 blocks per game. He was named a McDonald’s All-American and the Pennsylvania Gatorade Player of the Year. He also played in several prestigious high school all-star games, showcasing his skills in front of college recruiters and NBA scouts.

After graduating from Westtown, Bamba committed to play college basketball at the University of Texas. During his freshman year, he averaged 12.9 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 3.7 blocks per game, earning him a spot on the Big 12 All-Defensive Team and the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year award.

Bamba’s impressive college career led to him being selected 6th overall in the 2018 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic. In his rookie season, Bamba played in 47 games, averaging 6.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game. Despite missing time due to injury, Bamba has continued to develop his skills and improve his game in the NBA.
