"We never talk about them, we are sleeping on them”: NBA analyst believes the Denver Nuggets will be a title contender this season 3

Denver Nuggets were a team that was on an upward trajectory and had all the potential to win the NBA Championship. Injuries to star players like Jamal Murray, and Michael Porter Jr. hindered the team’s progress in the last two seasons.

Now everyone is back healthy, and the Nuggets are a contender once again. Nikola Jokic has been the MVP for the last two seasons and getting Murray alongside Porter Jr. back will be a huge boost for this team from Denver.

Recently, Zach Lowe talked about the team that everyone was sleeping on heading into the new NBA season. His answer was pretty simple, as he went with the Denver Nuggets, a team that has one of the best starting 5s in the league.

Talking about it, Zach Lowe said,Don’t forget the Denver Nuggets who get Jamal Murray back get Michael Porter Jr. back. This was a conference finals team in the bubble, they have the two-time MVP, when they got Aaron Gordon via trade two seasons ago they destroyed everything that was in front of them until Jamal Murray tore his ACL.”

He added, “ACL injuries guys recover from those, it might take Jamal Murray half the season to get back to form. Michael Porter Jr., back injuries are a little bit scary, put him up as an if, but if he’s an if that ends up being a 20 to 25-point scorer and a 6’10 unblockable shooter, the Nuggets are in business in the inner circle of championship contenders and we never talk about them we are sleeping on them.”

Kendrick Perkins is expecting big things from Jamal Murray and the Denver Nuggets

Jamal Murray will be making his much-awaited return to the league when the new season starts. He was a player who was getting better every season, but the ACL injury hindered his progress as well. Kendrick Perkins is expecting a great season from Murray when he returns.

Talking about Jamal Murray, Kendrick Perkins said, “You know what I expect big things the last time, I mean that we saw Jamal Murray at his best was in the bubble. In my opinion, I think being away from the game of basketball and although it was due to injury you missed the game, and a guy like Jamal Murray, who’s a pure hooper, you can’t keep him away from the game that long.”

He added, “I think he’s going to come back healthy he had more than enough time to rest and I think he’s going to come back playing as an all-star caliber guard because just remember throughout the regular season Jamal Murray in his finish short stand for his career he hasn’t really looked good in a regular season he always turned it up in the postseason.“

Kendrick Perkins further said, “But I expect us to see an all-star version with 22 points a game a night maybe 25 around that range. Jamal Murray, so I expect big things for him well not to mention you said he’s had plenty of time to recover…”

Murray will play for the Denver Nuggets when the new NBA season begins next month now that he has nearly fully recovered from his injury. All of Jamal Murray’s fans and the Nuggets’ faithful can rest assured that he will participate in the preseason games.

In the upcoming season, the Denver Nuggets will compete for the NBA championship. Jamal Murray, Nikola Jokic, and Michael Porter Jr. are a deadly combination. Plus, with Murray at his finest and key contributors like Aaron Gordon and KCP on their side, they’re a formidable foe at any point in the playoffs.
