Kevin Durant has been sidelined for multiple weeks now as he sustained an MCL sprain on January 8 against the Miami Heat. Hoping that he could feature in the All-Star festivity in 2023, Durant doesn’t want to rush back from his sprained MCL, keeping in mind the playoff picture to come after the star-studded exhibition game.

As per the Brooklyn Nets, Kevin Durant is all set to resume on-court activity from this week itself and could well feature on the NBA hardwood alongside Kyrie Irving leading the Nets, before the All-Star game. However, nothing is certain to this point.

“I want to play tomorrow if I can. So that’s what my sense of urgency is. Obviously, I don’t want to rush anything. I want to make sure I’m 100 percent. But yeah, I want to play. I want to be a part of all these events,” Durant said via Brian Lewis.

As mentioned above, Durant was last seen in the All-Star game in 2019. He has even witnessed his MVP candidature being outpaced by other big men and guards in the league. Durant was averaging 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.3 assists while shooting a career-high 55.9 percent from the floor when he went down with an MCL sprain for the second time in two years time. For those who don’t know, this is just when the Nets collapsed in the 2021-22 season.

When Durant was injured last season, Brooklyn went from the East’s No. 2 seed all the way down to No. 8. Moreover, many believe that James Harden lost faith in this side, only because KD was ruled out for multiple weeks.
