NBA players and their teams are steadily preparing for the beginning of the new season, but when does NBA training camp start?
With the new NBA season less than a month away many fans are wondering when the NBA training camp starts. For all teams that are participating in preseason games outside North America, the NBA training camp starts on September 24th. For the teams that are only participating in preseason games within North America, the NBA training camp starts on September 27th.
Shortly after that, the preseason games begin on September 30th and go on till October 14th. The 2022-23 NBA season starts on October 18th. The Boston Celtics play the Philadelphia 76ers playing in the first game of the new NBA season.
When does the NBA G League regular season begin?
The NBA G League regular season will start after the NBA G League Draft and the Showcase Cup are finished. The NBA 2022-23 G League Draft takes place on October 22nd. Following the draft, G league training camps are on the 24th of October. The G League Showcase Cup will then begin on the 4th of November and finish latest by December 2nd.
The NBA G League season will then start on the 27th of December with exciting prospects such as Scott Henderson and Kenneth Lofton Jr. taking part. Henderson has a chance during this G League season to solidify his place as the top pick for the 2023 NBA Draft. It’s unlikely he’s selected before Victor Wembanyama, but it’s a chance to make the pick a tough one.
