Charles Barkley a few months ago talked about LeBron James and spoke about why he is a class apart from other NBA Legends.
It was clear even when LeBron James was in high school that he was destined for greatness in the NBA. The four-time NBA champion lived up to his reputation and then some, delivering a performance that well exceeded anyone’s wildest dreams.
Although few athletes have managed it, LeBron James has spent the entirety of his career as the best player on his team. LeBron received some praise from NBA great Charles Barkley during his recent appearance on the Draymond Green Podcast. He compared LeBron James’s innovative play to that of past NBA greats and said that James was ahead of the curve.
Charles Barkley said, “I think what LeBron has accomplished is arguably the greatest story in sports history. For No. 1, you look at Kobe, Kevin Garnett, guys like that, they were not good players when they first got into the NBA. LeBron is the only player in my forty years in the NBA who played great from day 1.“
He added, “And for him to turn into one of the best players ever, he’s never gotten in trouble, especially in this 24-hour news cycle with social media. For him to be as great as he’s been from the year 18 to where he’s at now, I think it’s one of the greatest stories in sports history. He was that good from day 1.”
There is no doubt that LeBron James has turned it up since day 1. He has worked hard throughout his career, and as a result of that, he is one of the best players ever to play the game.
