Skip Bayless calls out Kevin Durant for not wanting to be included in all-time great conversation

There has often been controversy around Kevin Durant making bold claims on his beliefs. However, leading a depleted squad alongside Kyrie Irving, the 3-time NBA Champion has often been compared with the all-time greats of the sport due to his exceptional scoring abilities, form of play and consistency over the years in the NBA.

Even when he’s in his 15th year in the league, Durant has the ability to be amongst the top MVP candidates, courtesy to his exceptional scoring rate of 29.9 points, 7.4 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game. Though when he was recently asked about his mindset to be included in the all-time greats, the Slim Reaper wanted no part of it.

This seemingly made sports media’s veteran personality – Skip Bayless unhappy as he fired blatant shots at the Brooklyn Nets’ marquee scorer. The 70-year-old analyst feels like these retirement comments made by Durant is more of an attempt to avoid the limelight and center stage.

Skip Bayless on Kevin Durant’s comments

Bayless said on Undisputed, “So, he’s saying, like, I’m having retirement thoughts. Just leave me alone and let me hoop. He’s so great, you have to embrace that. … He likes to play out of the spotlight in the shadows.”

Just like in most cases, Bayless could be wrong here as well. Durant’s most decisive decision has been to form the big 3 in Golden State with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. Being an already-equipped side to pave their way into consecutive finals, KD’s addition made them stronger and better than everyone. Perhaps one of the reasons why, the 34-year-old is considered a villain even till date. It was his decision to be in the spotlight and has always been firm in admitting to it.
