LeBron James has one word to describe Donovan Mitchell’s 71-point double-double against the Bulls

It seems like Cleveland Cavaliers have finally found the heir to their ‘prodigal son’ LeBron James, and it is none other than the newest sensation – Donovan Mitchell. The latter not only secured them a win against the Chicago Bulls on Monday Night but even dropped his best-ever and this season’s highest individual tally of 71 points.

Donovan Mitchell also scored the clutch jumper which sent the game to OT, from where he perhaps took the center stage to secure a 145=134 win in OT. Interestingly, it was the eighth most point ever scored by an individual in the league’s history and the most since late Kobe Bryant (who dropped 81 points against Toronto Raptors on January 22, 2006).

Mitchell also had 11 assists registered against his name, making him the first and only player to register theta kind of a stat line in NBA history as per StatMuse.

LeBron James reacts to Donovan Mitchell’s heroics vs Bulls

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, who scored game-high 43 points against the Charlotte Hornets, too came quick to applause the effort of Donovan Mitchell, by making his feelings perfectly clear.

LeBron James wasn’t the only former Cav who heaped praise of Mitchell but even Kyrie Irving. Irving was asked about Mitchell’s night after he helped lead the Nets to a 139-103 victory against the San Antonio Spurs.

“Good,” Irving said. “Records are meant to be broken. I’m happy he did. What’s funny about it is … tell Don I shouted him out, but I was on Call of Duty a little bit before the game with Don. We were playing quads, and he was locked in, I could tell. He was locked in.”
