The latest loss for Steph Curry and Golden State Warriors against the Sacramento Kings has led to an unwanted record that dates back to the 1989/90 season.

The Golden State Warriors continued their disastrous form on the road when they lost their latest away game to the Sacramento Kings on Sunday night. The Kings defeated the Warriors 122-115 at the Golden 1 Center, and piled further misery on the defending champions who have not been at their best since the start of the season – and now have an unwanted record to their names.

Fresh off a couple of wins following their five-game losing streak, the Warriors had a strong start to their game as they won the first quarter convincingly. However, the Kings struck back with conviction to record a lead as the teams went in at halftime – and continued their dominance in the third quarter to extend their lead further while the Warriors could not find their way back.

While it was Curry’s unbelievable displays that helped the Warriors win consecutive games, an off day for Curry did not bid well for his team. The loss meant that the Warriors had now lost eight of their 13 games played this season, beginning their title defense on an extremely unwanted note. However, one stat makes the Warriors’ disastrous start to their title defense read even worse.

What is the stat that makes Steph Curry and co’s start to their title defense even worse?

The stat that has surfaced recently and puts the Warriors’ miseries into light is their record on the road this season.

It turns out that all five of the games that the Warriors have won this season were held at the Chase Center in San Francisco, meaning that the Warriors’ away record this season reads a disastrous 0-7. In fact, their start on the road has been so bad that it dates right back to the 1989/90 season when the Warriors last started any season with a similar record on the road.

The Warriors will certainly hope to record their first win on the road soon enough in order to break the streak, and to get their title defense back on track as soon as they possibly can.
