The Golden State Warriors in the absence of Stephen Curry have been struggling and it has been largely due to the fact that Klay Thompson hasn’t been able to step up to fill the void of Curry in the team.
The Warriors in their most recent match lost to the Phoenix Suns by a score of 107-103. It was in a game where the Warriors even without Curry showed great determination to fight against currently the best team in the league.
Klay Thompson had a very disappointing game against the Suns as he just scored 13 points and shot an abysmal 5/21 from the field which was one of the reasons why the Warriors lost this big game against a potential playoff opponent.
Despite his struggles in shooting the ball, he is forcing shots which have been the Warriors costing a lot recently and the problem is ever-increasing. Without Stephen Curry, Klay was expected to lead this team with his experience and talent but he has been falling short so far.
However, Klay will look to bounce back as soon as possible because the Warriors want to make a push towards the Championship this season after having 2 disappointing seasons due to the injuries to their star players.
Jordan Poole continues to impress for the Warriors
Despite Klay’s struggles, Jordan Poole has been balling this season. In the absence of Stephen Curry, he has thrived even more and has been scoring a chunk of points in every game.
Against the Pheonix Suns, Jordan Poole dropped 38 points and tied his career-high tally in terms of points. Though he was not able to help the Warriors to secure the win.
Jordan Poole will be very important for the Warriors’ chances to make a deep playoff run this time. He can provide that huge boost in scoring while coming off the bench when everyone is healthy in the squad.
