Serge Ibaka and Kendrick Perkins have shared the locker room and have stood strong for one another during their stint together with Oklahoma City Thunder. The two big-men concerned were known to be hardcore fighters in the paint. But this time around it seems like their battle has just taken an ugly turn outside the boundaries of the NBA court.

In a segment of ESPN’s First Take, Perkins went all out to throw shade at Milwaukee Bucks star Sege Ibaka by claiming that he lied about his age at the time when he was with OKC Thunder. Kendrick claimed how fans used to complement the young core of OKC with Durant, Harden and Westbrook at the helm of it, but subtly pointed out how Ibaka lied about his age.

The former NBA Champ turned analyst said, “Everybody kept talking about how Kevin Durant is only 23, Westbrook is only 22, Harden is 22, Serge Ibaka is 21, although he was probably 30 at the time because we know how certain individuals lie about their age.”

The truth behind Serge Ibaka’s age and how he lashed out at Perkins

Interestingly this wasn’t the first time that Serge Ibaka was confronted or even alleged for such claims. Even during the time of his free agency in 2017, their were rebuked ugly stereotypes about the African’s age.

Ibaka said at that time, “I’m sad that to this day there are still prejudices based on your origin and, as Africans, sometimes we need to take a stand. I was born in the capital of the Republic of Congo, Brazzaville. A city with a population bigger than 1 million. A city with hospitals, a civil registry and an administration. I was born in a caring, loving and united family. I was not born in the jungle.”

Given that the same issue and allegation has already left a mark on Ibaka’s heart, Perkins blatantly went out to point those out once again, after five-and-a-half years.
