The tragic demise of Kobe Bryant still looms large over the NBA community around the world even after two years, and it has not been harder on anyone more than his widow Vanessa.

One of the greatest players to ever step on a basketball court and an undisputed legend of the NBA in his own right met an untimely demise when the helicopter carrying him, his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven other people crashed on the 26th of January in 2020.

The former Los Angeles Lakers superstar is survived by his widow Vanessa, who accused the firefighters involved in the crash site of taking and sharing the pictures of the site and claimed compensation for their actions in a court case that went on for nearly 10 days.

What was the court’s verdict?

The court delivered a verdict that was ultimately met with satisfaction from the grieving widow.

The federal jury ordered Los Angeles County to pay $31million in damages over the actions of deputies and firefighters who took and shared the gruesome pictures of the crash site where Kobe Bryant’s helicopter crashed in 2020 killing Gianna and seven other people.

The $31million was to be shared between Vanessa Bryant and co-plaintiff Chris Chester, whose wife Sarah and daughter Payton were also killed in the crash in Calabasas.

After the court’s verdict, Vanessa took to Twitter to post a picture of Kobe and Gigi accompanied by the caption: “All for you! I love you! Justice for Kobe and Gigi! #Betonyourself #MambaDay 8•24•22 #MambaMentality”.

The NBA community has still not completely moved on from the tragic incident that took away one of the greatest ever to ever step on a court, but the verdict of the court will certainly help give closure to his grieving widow and his thousands of fans across the world.
