John Collins is an important player for the Atlanta Hawks and he has got injured at the most important stage of their season. The Hawks are looking to make a run towards the playoffs but an injury to their star player won’t help them.

John Collins

According to reports, Collins has suffered an injured right finger and foot injuries which will keep him sidelined for an indefinite time and will haunt the Atlanta Hawks.

The head coach of the Hawks, Nate McMillan talked about Collins’ injury and said, “John is just basically getting checked out, He wants to get a second opinion on his foot and his finger, and we hope that we get some good news there.”

Nate McMillan added that the Hawks don’t know whether or not Collins will be out for an extended period of time which keeps his status unknown for the rest of the regular season.

Earlier Collins himself stated that “It’s obviously tough to play basketball”, which gives us an indication that the Hawks star player is not looking good as of now.

How can the Atlanta Hawks bounce back in the absence of John Collins?

Trae Young and John Collins

The Atlanta Hawks who went to the ECF last season have had a bad season of far. They currently find themselves struggling to even make the playoffs.

Injury to Collins won’t help their case but Trae Young is the type of player who can carry his team and make them reach the playoffs.

Other players like Bogdanovic, Huerter, and Hunter will also need to step up in order to help their team reach the playoffs just like they did during the last season.

Everyone knows the amount of potential this Hawks team has. We saw them beat the Memphis Grizzlies without Trae Young and Collins which is a very big task.

They will be still hoping to make the playoffs. And it will interesting to see how their season fairs off and whether or not Collins comes back in time to help his team.
