Ahead of the 20th season of his NBA career, Carmelo Anthony was released by the Los Angeles Lakers. The American basketball veteran played a bit-part for the Portland Trail Blazers and the Lakers in the past two seasons, but free agency awaited Anthony when the Lakers let him go. However, he wasn’t willing to give up just yet.

Anthony was spotted working out in Los Angeles in the off-season, and the video that surfaced of him showed yet he still has something to give to a willing franchise. The 38-year-old looked in great shape as he put in three pointer after three pointers, and it was not long before fans online started linking him to the Golden State Warriors.

While one fan commented “he’s an asset to the Warriors for sure!”, another said: “Warriors should get him but they love making me mad.” The 10-time NBA All Star who has often had his cynics because of his defensive ability sounds like a good fit for the Warriors, and in all honesty, getting Melo in might be beneficial to GSW as well.

When one thinks about Melo, what comes to mind is excellent shooting ability but a player who is often caught out in defense. However, if Melo does indeed join the Warriors, the Dubs look like they have room for him they can hold forth in defense very tightly while Melo wreaks havoc ahead of them.

Melo coming off the bench to join Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green on the court sounds like a combination who can defend the NBA Championship title, and his experience in the dressing room will also be priceless.
