Former NBA Player treats Celtics’ star Jayson Tatum in high regard. The 2016 NBA Champion feels that 24-year-old small forward is on the right path to be an elite name in the league.

Jayson Tatum missed out on the opportunity to lift his first-ever NBA Championship in 2022. Boston was not the superior team at the end of the day. Golden State Warriors emerged victorious with a 4-2 record. However, Richard Jefferson senses Jayson Tatum would be the next massive star in the NBA.

The former small forward said, “Jayson Tatum is right on schedule for where he needs to be. He’s developing, he’s getting better, he’s turning into more of a leader, and the way he was distributing the ball,”

Richard indicated that Tatum has the strength to get past to the paint and even distribute the ball. He comparted his playing style with the likes of LeBron James, “When you look at [Nikola] Jokic, when you look at Luka [Doncic], when you look at Bron, these guys, their ability to distribute the ball opens things up for them to play one-on-one.”

Former NBA Player Richard feels Jayson Tatum’s game is unanswerable

“There is no answer to Jayson Tatum’s game if he can distribute at a six, seven assist type night. If he gets you going, not shooting particularly well efficiently, but he can get his teammates involved and get double digit assists, that is where you see the maturation process for him,” added Jefferson on NBA Today by ESPN.

“I think he’s right on time.” The NBA World has mutual feelings than that of Richard Jefferson. After his first 334 games in the NBA, Tatum has averaged 20.3 point with 6.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists. He has turned into the main man in the Boston Celtics squad over the past 2-3 seasons.

In last year’s playoff, Tatum averaged 29.5 points. He recently outcasted Luka Doncic in the matchup against Dallas Mavericks. Tatum put up 29 points on the board, whereas Luka, for whom scoring in NBA is easier than scoring in European leagues, could only manage 23.
