Amongst the many players whose ratings were revealed, the player whose rating most fans had a problem with was none other than the Golden State Warriors’ Steph Curry.

Curry was revealed to have a rating of 96, something that plenty of fans seemed to have a problem with.

The Golden State Warriors superstar was rated 96 in the previous edition of the annual game as well, but in spite of having a season that saw him win the NBA Championship for the fourth time as well as win a Finals’ MVP – Curry did not receive an upgrade and will go into the new edition of the game with his rating intact.

In fact, Curry is no longer the joint highest-rated player in the game as Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks has overtaken him as the highest-rated player in the game with a rating of 97.

Curry’s rating remaining intact has meant that the revelation has received plenty of backlash from the NBA community on Twitter.

What did the fans have to say about Stephen Curry’s NBA 2K23 rating?

It would not be an exaggeration to say that fans did not quite agree with Curry’s rating not being given a upgrade after last season.

Most fans wanted Curry to be rated 97 instead of 96, a rating that would have made him the joint top rated player in the game.

For a player who many consider as the best in the league at the moment as well as one of the best of all time, being second best in the game is disrespectful.

Curry may begin this season as the second highest rated player in NBA 2K23, but him retaining the NBA Championship or winning another MVP award might mean that he will once again be at the top of the game when the next edition releases after the end of the upcoming season.
