Draymond Green saw his Golden State beat San Antonio 144-113 on Friday in front of a record-breaking record. As Steve Kerr’s side began the stretch of their five-game road trip, the Warriors vs Spurs was attended by 68,323 fans, the highest in the history of the NBA. Safe to say, this only gave the defending champions all the more reasons to exploit the worst defensive team in the NBA this season.

The Warriors vs Spurs saw the away side drop 18 shots from behind the arc and becoming just the second team in league history with eight players to score at least 12 points. With a record-breaking 68,323 fans there to witness Golden State being at its very best, the former DPOY could not hold onto his feelings as he acknowledged how special it was to be a part of it.

“It was very fun,” Draymond Green said of Friday’s game. “It’s funny, I said to somebody at the beginning of the game, it feels like you’re playing in the Final Four all over again. To have that experience, like you leave that and never think you’re gonna experience it again. I think this is a great thing that the Spurs organization did. I was happy that we were the game and the team that could be a part of it, because this is a special night.”

For those who are not aware, the Golden State Warriors coach – Steve Kerr, has a more direct connection to the Alamodome than any of his players. The five-time playing champion spent two separate stints in San Antonio after teaming with Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls, playing three seasons at the Alamodome on either side of the millennium.

This is just why the happiness on the face of the former Spurs star was evident. Hopefully Warriors could pull the same crowd as the continue to work their way in the Western Conference ladder.
