CJ McCollum posted a heartfelt message to his brother on his Twitter after signing a new deal with the New Orleans Pelicans that will see him earn $64million over two years.

Christian James McCollum recently put pen to paper on a deal that will see him extend his stay with the New Orleans Pelicans until the 2025/26 season.

According to NBA Insider and ESPN journalist Adrian Wojnarowski, McCollum signed a new deal which is a two-year extension that will see him earn $64million over two years – a total of $133million over the course of four years.

The 31-year-old who was the NBA’s Most Improved Player in 2016 and a player who many consider to be a future All-Star in the making will certainly boost the Pelican’s ranks as they aim to make it to the Play-Offs once again. And as it turns out, McCollom as well as his family are very hyped to start the most important chapter of the point guard’s career in the NBA so far.

The elder McCollum brother Errick took to Twitter to write his thoughts on his younger brother’s new deal, and it was a wholesome read as he wrote “Look at God! Congrats bro bro @CJMcCollum Nola is officially home now, we pulling up this summer too!” The tweet went viral amongst supporters of the Pelicans in no time, and so did his younger brother’s reply.

Replying to Errick’s tweet, McCollum wrote: “Thank you big bro. Without you there is no successful version of me.” It was a wholesome and grateful reply to his family that really encapsulated the long way that McCollum has come in his career so far, and put the magnitude of the deal into further focus.

McCollom will look to continue his hot streak of form for the Pelicans when the new NBA season tips off later this month.
