In the offseason leading up to this season, Kevin Durant submitted a trade request to the Brooklyn Nets. He did so because he was unhappy with the path the team was taking in light of the controversy surrounding Kyrie Irving.

There was a lot of interest in KD since many teams wanted to obtain him to strengthen their championship prospects, but ultimately he ended up staying in Brooklyn because there wasn’t a single offer on the market that would suit the Nets. This resulted in KD remaining with the Nets.

The Nets had a rough start to the season, but they have started to play pretty well recently, and Kevin Durant is leading the way for them from the front. KD is averaging 30.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 5.3 assists in 31 games this season.

Kendrick Perkins, who played with Kevin Durant in the past and is now a member of the Nets, praised the current performances of the Nets star and said that he hasn’t seen him play in such a manner since Durant earned the MVP award with Oklahoma City.

Speaking about it, Kendrick Perkins said, “Kevin Durant has been playing the best basketball of his career. I haven’t seen him in a Zone like this since he won MVP with OKC!!!! Real Talk.”

Kevin Durant and the Nets are championship contenders again

When one considers all that took place with the club over the course of the summer, including the fact that both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant came perilously near to renouncing their membership with the organization, this remarkable reversal by the franchise is all the more remarkable.

The Brooklyn Nets extended their record to 20-12 after their victory against the Golden State Warriors, and they once again had the appearance of a club that has a chance to win the championship. The fact that the newly appointed head coach Jacques Vaughn has both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant enjoying their time on the floor is a beautiful sight for all of the Nets’ followers stationed in different parts of the globe.

The Brooklyn Nets are presently in the fourth-seed position in the Eastern Conference after posting a record of 9-1 during their most recent 10 games. They have made considerable advances toward improving since the firing of Steve Nash, and both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant have been totally involved in the team’s chances of winning since the firing.

Ben Simmons is also becoming more at ease in his position, and it is becoming more obvious that the Nets will gain a significant advantage going forward as a result of having him on the team. It is likely that this season may be the last time that Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving play together, but given how well both of them are playing right now, it will be tough for the front office to let Irving depart in free agency.

The Nets are a serious contender to win the NBA championship this season, and if they continue to play at the same high level that they have been, they have the potential to win against any team on any given night. This gives them an edge in their pursuit of the title. This year, they are one of the teams that should be seriously considered for the championship.
