Miami Heat’s young star Tyler Herro had a great year in the 2021-22 NBA season, as he won the 6th Man of the Year award, and looked pretty good throughout the year. However, Herro’s performance dropped off significantly during the postseason. This impacted the team’s chance of winning.

Even before he suffered a groin injury late in Miami’s postseason run, he had trouble replicating his regular-season output. For Miami’s postseason run, Herro suited up for 15 games. He shot just 40.9% from the field and 22.9% from deep, resulting in averages of 12.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game.

Recently, Tyler Herro opened up on why he thinks that his form became poor in the latter part of the season. He said, “I had my groin injury, that was one thing, but that happened later in the playoffs. I still wasn’t playing well at the beginning of the playoffs.

Herro added, “I think part of it had to do with finding out I’m having another kid. That was a lot mentally. It was just the timing of it, but it is what it is, and I’m back ready to hoop, and obviously the playoffs didn’t go the way I wanted it to, but it’s another year and another crack at it.”

Herro also spoke about his plans for this season. He said, “Everyone knows I want to start, I’ve been saying that for 4 years…I think about starting last year, I think I would’ve had a better chance of being an All-Star”

The Miami Heat didn’t make many major changes to their roster, as their squad is quite deep. Herro will hope to stay healthy throughout the season and become even better this season, hopefully, as a starter in Miami.
