NBA 2K22 is a basketball simulation video game based on the National Basketball Association (NBA). The game is developed and published by Visual Concepts and 2K respectively. It is the 23rd installment in the NBA 2K series and follows NBA 2K21.
NBA 2K22 Update 1.13, which has yet to be detailed, is already available on PS4, Xbox One, PS5, and Xbox One S, with PC availability to follow shortly. NBA 2K’s official Twitter account confirmed the patch went live overnight with a tweet that announced Season 8 would launch at 8 am PT on Friday, July 1, 2022. Although we were expecting a routine pre-Season 8 update, reports indicate that this one may offer a lot more as the download size is said to be quite large. It appears the Xbox One download is at least 39.5 GB, and there is one PS4 player on Reddit who reported the download to be as large as 55.647 GB. It is likely that 2K is making some final adjustments as NBA 2K22 nears its end while preparing for Season 8 with a huge amount of new content on the horizon.
The latest season honors Shaq’s commitment to athleticism and finesse that dominated across the country, showing fans that greatness is earned, not granted. The game also introduces many exciting new features for MyCAREER and MyTEAM.
MyCareer
Players who reach Level 30 can drive around in a brand new slime skin on their Go-Karts in the City and Cancha Del Mar. In addition, MyCAREER introduces new apparel, rewards, and more. Those who reach level 40 will have access to brand new winged shoes from Dash2K I as part of MyCAREER. In addition, players can dress up in all-gold items inspired by the NBA Finals, such as Gold Goggles, a Gold Basketball Jersey, a Gold Long shorts, a Gold Arm Sleeve, a Gold Hat, a Gold Tee, and a Gold Suit in Season 8.
MyTeam
The Season of MyTEAM this year will highlight some of the players who have made the biggest positive impact on the community in the last decade. Also in this season, the Token Market rewards 2000 wins with End Game Jokic, Invincible Dr. J, and Invincible Dominique Wilkins. Furthermore, Kobe and Shaq packs will be available at launch, along with new signature challenges that feature AI, Kobe, MJ, and LeBron. In addition, a Domination tier will be added, featuring end game James Harden.
The W
Former WNBA players turned coaches Sheri Sam and Taj McWilliams-Franklin will also feature in The W. Players can reach the Hall of Fame tier by using their basketball expertise and know-how to be rewarded with their contacts, including perks such as Takeover Perk Pickers. A seasonal clothing bundle, an Extra Point Badge, 4,000 total VC, special W Gear, and 2K Breakthrough Gear are additional rewards that players can get.
