All you need to know about the contract details of Teoscar Hernandez with the Seattle Mariners which he signed past offseason.
Outfielder Teoscar Hernandez is about to make history in his arbitration case against the Seattle Mariners. Hernandez was previously a member of the Toronto Blue Jays but was traded to Seattle after the team’s season ended.
In the case that was heard a few months ago, Hernández demanded an increase in pay from $10.65 million to $16 million, and the Mariners countered with $14 million. Regardless of whether or not Hernández prevails in the case, he will set a new record for an arbitration award.
The previous record for the most money ever awarded in a single game was $13.5 million, which was split between Gerrit Cole and Max Fried for their victories in 2019 over the Houston Astros and this year’s Atlanta Braves.
In order to avoid arbitration with the Blue Jays in March 2022, Hernández had earlier reached a settlement for a salary of $10.65 million.
Hernández, who is 30 years old, was sent from Toronto to Seattle on November 16 as part of a trade. He finished the year 2022 with a batting line of.267/.316/.491 with 25 home runs and 77 RBI. In 2021, he was selected for the All-Star Game as a result of his batting line of.296/.346/.524, which included 32 home runs and 116 RBI. Also, he was awarded the AL Silver Slugger in both 2020 and 2021.

Teoscar Hernandez has gotten off to a strong start for the Mariners thus far this season. During the game before, he had two home runs batted in. There were a total of 50 at-bats, and Hernandez, Pollock, Tommy La Stella, Kolten Wong, and Cooper Hummel combined for three hits and one run batted in.
