The New York Yankees had a great start to the season and were on pace to achieve the best record in baseball history, but they faltered along the way. Most of it was due to injuries to players like Anthony Rizzo, and Giancarlo Stanton. In their absence, Aaron Judge continued his dominance, but the results didn’t go in the team’s way.

Aaron Judge who is likely to win the AL MVP was recently asked about what would the return of Anthony Rizzo mean to the Yankees. Judge was delighted by the fact that Rizzo will be returning soon to play for the team.

Aaron Judge said,One of the best first basemen in the game for a reason, and he’s been a consistent part of this you know, team and this lineup all year long. Then a couple you know back things that have popped up you know throughout the year but he’s a guy that shows up every single day ready to play and you know we get him back in our lineup.

He added, “He’s a guy that can work the count hit for power I think he’s already got 30 homers this year so he’s definitely going to be a big boost when he gets back in there.”

The Yankees are trying to seal up the AL East division title. A number of injuries contributed to the Yankees’ struggles in August. Because of their poor play, both the Toronto Blue Jays and the Tampa Bay Rays have re-entered the divisional race. However, the Yankees have recently turned on the jets, and barring a major setback, they should win the division.
