Manchester United prediction: Probable Man United XI to face Norwich City in the FA Cup

Manchester United travel to Carrow Road as they are set to take on Norwich City in the FA Cup quarterfinals fixture on Saturday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men will be heading into this game on the back of a convincing 3-0 victory over Sheffield United on Wednesday. The Red Devils are in a fine run of form as they are yet to lose a game since January 26 across all competitions. Nothing but a win against Daniel Farke’s men would take them to the semifinals of the FA Cup.

On the other hand, the Canaries are facing relegation in the league and their only shot to glory is this competition. They would be hoping to progress further.

Team News

Solskjaer would be happy to see most of his main players back in the squad, especially the return of Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford. However, Axel Tuanzebe and Phil Jones are still recovering from their respective injuries and will not be joining the team on Saturday.

Sergio Romero (GK)

The Argentine shot-stopper has been brilliant whenever called upon. He is the first-choice shot-stopper for United in cup competitions.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (RB)

Wan-Bissaka is by far one of the best players in the team. Apart from his excellent defending skills, he has also shown glimpses of his potential while going forward. He is likely to retain his spot at right-back.

Victor Lindelof (CB)

The Swede has looked confident at the back since the restart of the season. He should take the mantle of the leader at the back, as Harry Maguire is expected to be rested.

Eric Bailly (CB)

The former Villarreal ace has been brilliant since his return from a lengthy injury-enforced absence. He needs to be playing regularly and should be given the nod ahead of Maguire for this fixture.

Brandon Williams (LB)

The 19-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough season this term. However, he got limited opportunities since Luke Shaw’s return. Williams must be given a chance against Norwich City to continue is development.

Scott McTominay (CDM)

The Scottish international started from the bench in the last game. His return to the squad after a two-month absence has been a boost to the squad. He is expected to return to the lineup after missing out against the Blades.

Fred (CM)

Fred is by far the most improved player in Solskjaer’s squad this season. He has been a key figure in the absence of Pogba and McTominay. He should be given the nod ahead of Nemanja Matic.

Mason Greenwood (RW)

With 12 goals and 4 assists in 38 first-team games this season, Greenwood is one of the best youngsters in England. He is expected to retain his spot on the right-wing.

Bruno Fernandes (AM)

Manchester United haven’t lost a game since his arrival in January. And the Portuguese playmaker has been involved directly in 8 goals for the team in just 11 appearances. He will be key in unlocking Norwich’s defence.

Marcus Rashford (LW)

The 22-year-old is United’s top scorer alongside Anthony Martial this term. He has established himself as a key figure under Solskjaer and should be an undoubted starter.
